Onward Now

Charlie Kirk at the 2024 Young Women’s Leadership Summit in San Antonio, Texas (June 7, 2024)
Night had fallen heavy
On that fair and fearsome ship
When fell our Captain Charlie
As the cracking of a whip.
Amidst a sea of mourning
A cackle howled against the prow.
The sailors, they were warning
Of a storm ahead the bow.
I saw with my own eyes
The deep froth and rend asunder
To a hydra whose heads did rise,
Men and sails shadowed under.
The ghost of our Captain
Or the Spirit alive in he
Railed against the tempest din,
“My blood for the ship of the free.”
The roar of a thousand swords
Loosed in the ocean spray
Sung with the battered boards
Their tale of victory.
She sails still, ever on,
With we her weary crew
Toward that eternal dawn
And toward our Captain true.
Dedication: To Charlie Kirk—Martyr, Father, Patriot.
